Assistant Teacher (piano)
Robert Yan began piano studies at age seven with Dr. Christopher Bowlby, later continuing under Dr. Ivona Kaminska, Dr. Logan Skelton at the University of Michigan, and Professor Alexander Korsantia at the New England Conservatory. From an early age, he garnered attention as a first-prize winner in numerous competitions, including the Seattle International Piano Competition (now Sonare International), 98.1 Classical KING FM Young Artists Awards, Washington State Outstanding Artists Competition, Virtuoso Festival, and American Protégé International Piano Competition, among others. He has performed at prestigious venues across the world, including multiple appearances at Carnegie Hall. More recently, he again won the gold medal at the Sonare International Piano Competition and advanced as a Semi-Finalist in the Chopin International Competition in Asia.
Throughout his development, Robert has worked in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Julian Martin, Boris Berman, Jacques Rouvier, Christopher Elton, Bruno Rigutto, Albert Attenelle, and Alexander Tutunov.
