Ms. Irena Kirova was born in Bulgaria, Europe. She began her musical interest at the young age of five, and in 2000, Ms. Kirova completed her High School Diploma from Music School at Vicho Grancharov, Bulgaria. When furthering her education, she enrolled at the Academy of Music and Dance Art in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, receiving a full scholarship as one of the top three auditioning students, nationwide. While attending the Music Academy, Ms. Kirova studied with world renowned pianist, professor Georgi Petrov for four years. She also taught piano and music theory in a music high school in Bulgaria during her college years. Irena Kirova also studied organ with the famous organist, Velin Iliev. During her career, Ms. Kirova has performed in numerous piano performances, solo recitals, accompanying, and chamber music recitals in her native Bulgaria, as well as Western Washington.
After receiving her Bachelors Degree in Music Pedagogy in 2004, Ms. Irena Kirova moved to Renton, Washington to pursue her passion in educating students about music. Ms. Kirova has more than a decade of teaching experience, seven of which have been here in the state of Washington. For the past several years, she has served as central representative for The Music Development Program (formerly the Royal Conservatory of Music Exams) for South Seattle, serving as coordinator for the examination program there. She is also a Certificate of Achievement recipient due to her student’s consistently high results with distinction in all grade levels. She is a devoted teacher and member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
